Darth Vader, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, is a Dark Lord of the Sith and an apprentice to Emperor Palpatine ,master of the Imperial Guard and Shadow Guard. He also secretly teaches his Secret Apprentice in the Dark Side of the Force as well as Lightsaber Combat. He plans to destroy the Emperor with his apprentice by his side.
History
Original Trilogy
Born as Anakin Skywalker, he is presumed to have been born on the desert world of Tatooine. Anakin was adventurous like his son, Luke Skywalker which lead him to follow Obi Wan Kenobi on an "idealistic crusade". He became Obi Wan's apprentice and the two became very close in the process. For many years of battles including the Clone War, Anakin was respected as a powerful and wise master in the order. He is quoted by Ben Kenobi as an "expert pilot and the best one in the galaxy". A good person who was a cunning warrior, compassionate, and a good friend. Over two decades before the Battle of Yavin, he fell in love with a beautiful, young woman and they eventually married. At one point following the Clone War, Senator Palpatine became chancellor of the Rebublic. He managed to corrupt Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker to do his bidding and the Galactic Empire was born. Unknown to Anakin, his wife gave birth to twins, Luke and Leia, Obi Wan hid them well from Anakin for four years, until Anakin's wife passed away. Obi Wan hid the twins to distant planets to be raised on. He at one point, encountered his old friend who engaged him in a duel until Anakin fell into a molten pit, injuring him in the process. Thus, he depended on machinery to live on. While Obi Wan went into hiding with his son, Luke on Tatooine.
Prequel Trilogy
Born as Anakin Skywalker, he was a slave in his early to late childhood on Tatooine. When some outlanders came down to his master's shop for a new hyperdrive, Anakin fell into a childhood crush on Padme Amidala, thinking she was an angel. After winning a podrace and earning his freedom, the powerful force-sensitive was was taken in by Qui-Gon Jinn as an apprentice. But this was only brief as Qui-Gon was struck down by the Sith Lord, Darth Maul. Qui-Gon thought that Anakin's raw power made him the Chosen One, or the one who would bring balance to the Force and that he will be trained. So to follow Qui-Gon's dying words, Qui-Gon's recently promoted apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, took Anakin in as his apprentice, and the two embarked on many different missions together. Ten years later, Anakin began to have dreams of his mother, Shmi, dying on his former home. Rushing to the rescue, he was a second too late as he watched his mother die in his arms at the tusken raider camp that captured and tortured her. Infuriated, he slaughtered every man, woman, and child in the camp. Shortly thereafter he took part in the Battle of Genosis, attempting but failing to capture Count Dooku with Obi-Wan's help. The Battle marked the beginning of the Clone Wars. During the war, Anakin was promoted from Padawan to Jedi Knight and served as a jedi general.
In the wanning days of the Clone Wars, Anakin was being told by Chancellor Palpetine, secretly Darth Sidious, that the jedi were becoming corrupt, and that they were planning to overthrow him. At the same time, Anakin found out that Padme was pregnant with his child and began to have nightmares about her dying while giving birth. Anakin becomes afraid of losing her and turns to the help of Yoda, but recives very little. Palpatine then tells Anakin that only the Dark Side can save Padme. At first Anakin is not convinced and finds out the true identity of Palpatine, telling Mace Windu shortly after. But Windu refuses to let Anakin partcipate in Sidious's arrest thinking Anakin will only interfere. Anakin goes anyway, and becomes completely convinced of Sidious's lies about the jedi when he sees Mace Windu about to strike down Sidious. Afraid of losing his only chance of saving Padme from death, Anakin strikes down the Jedi Master and turns to the Dark Side of the Force, taking the name of Darth Vader, and became Palpatine's next Sith apprentice. Shortly after, he stormed and attacked the Jedi Temple with the aid of 501st Clone Trooper legion, slaughtering thousands of the "treacherous jedi". Later he went to Mustafar to kill Nute Gunray and the rest of the Separatist leaders to stop the Clone Wars. When Vader completed his mission, Padmé landed on the planet to reunite with him. But when Vader saw Obi-Wan at her ships entrance, he believed she had betrayed her and Force choked her to the brink of death. Thinking Obi-Wan had turned her against him, he challenged Obi-Wan to a duel. The battle was long and hard, sending them from the landing platform all the way to a small island off a lava river, but Obi-Wan won the fight and left his former Padawan to die on the fiery planet.After that Padme gave birth to Luke and Leia.That would make Vader a father.
However, Palpatine arrived just in time to rescue his badly burned apprentice. Vader was then brought to the Emperor Palpatine Surgical Reconstruction Center where he was donned the black suit that keeps him alive. As Darth Vader, he became a powerful asset to the Empire, serving as an enforcer, Jedi hunter, and Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet of Palpatine's New Order.

In 18 BBY, Darth Vader led an attack on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. Vader then arrived on the planet in his Imperial shuttle, and began his search for a rogue Jedi named Kento Marek.

He killed many Wookiee warriors along the way. Vader found the Jedi he was looking for, and they engaged in a fierce lightsaber duel. Vader won the fight, and Force pushed Kento into the Jedi's home. The dark lord walked in, and Force choked the defeated Jedi. Before Vader could finish him off, the Sith's lightsaber gets Force pulled out of his hand and goes into the hands of Kento's son, Galen Marek. Kento yelled for his son to run, but Vader kills Kento by crushing his throat using the Force. After he killed the Jedi, Vader saves the child from Stormtroopers who were about to kill the boy. Galen then became Darth Vader's secret apprentice.

For many years, Darth Vader has trained Galen Marek in the ways of the Dark side of the Force. Eventually, the Dark lord sent his apprentice on top secret missions to find and kill the enemies of the Empire. Vader eventually built a holodroid named PROXY, who had been programmed to try and kill Starkiller as part of the young Sith's training. Starkiller and PROXY became friends despite the droid's programing to kill him.
Starkiller's Missions
Years later, Starkiller's training was complete, and he was knighted as an apprentice by Vader. Lord Vader told his apprentice of his first target, Master Rahm Kota, who is currently attacking a TIE Fighter Construction Facility. The apprentice was told to kill Kota, bring his lightsaber to Vader, and kill all witnesses onboard the facility.
After Starkiller's successful mission, he returned to his master, and gave the Dark lord the fallen Jedi's lightsaber. Vader then told Starkiller of another Jedi that the young man must hunt down and kill: Kazdan Paratus on the junkyard planet of Raxus Prime.

Powers and abilities
Vader was a brilliant strategist and was still, despite his weakened powers, one of the greatest pilots in the galaxy. His armor did not dull the precognition ability he possessed since childhood and he was able to predict the movements of his targets during dogfights with pinpoint precision. He still possessed his former persona's amazing engineering skills, having personally overseen the design of both his TIE Advanced x1 fighter and the second Death Star's construction. His skill with the lightsaber, developed during the many battles and skirmishes of the Clone Wars and the Great Jedi Purge, was legendary and was even further honed through the Jedi that he dueled following the Purge. All of these abilities, however, were secondary to his incredible mastery of the Force.
Because his limbs were severed and his body severely burned on Mustafar he lost much of his Force potential. As Darth Vader, Anakin was believed to have had roughly eight-tenths of the strength of the Emperor. But even still, Vader wielded tremendous power and skill. Had he sustained none of his injuries on Mustafar, he would have most likely been twice as powerful as the Emperor and four times more powerful than even Galen Marek. In fact, it is estimated that if he was as strong as he was when he purged the Jedi Temple when facing Galen Marek, he would have easily outmatched and killed him. He can use various abilites such as Force Push, Force Repulse, Force Grapple, which he can do to multiple objects at once, and his deadly Force Choke, which he mastered more than any other Sith Lords before him. Though Darth Vader is skilled in the use of the force, he is unable to use Force Lightning due to the armor he wears and his prosphetic limbs.
The Emperor, having gone out of his way to keep Vader alive, took an alternative viewpoint. Though it was true to say that he had not bargained for an apprentice that was "more machine than man", Palpatine was of the opinion that most of the limitations on Vader's potential power were not physical but psychological. He believed that, were Vader to fully confront his choices and disappointments to completely shake himself out of his despair, he would have been able to reawaken the incredible power within him. Yet, while Vader made progress in this regard, he was never fully able to accept who, and what, he had become.
